Call It A Day

8"x8" Oil on Panel
Palette Knife Painting

On a recent visit to Lake Maumelle, I watched as many of the sailboats started coming in at the end of the day.    I'm finding that sailboats are fun to paint with the palette knife.  I will definitely be doing more of them in the future.
This week I am very excited to be in Charleston, SC for a workshop.  I will share more information next week when I return.
Thank you for viewing my palette knife paintings.

Yellow Sail

6"x8" Oil on Panel
Palette Knife Painting

We are truly blessed here in Arkansas to have so many clean, beautiful lakes.  One of the nearby lakes is enjoyed by sailboat enthusiasts.  On a recent visit, I was amazed at the number of boats.  Most of them were white with white sails.  Since I decided I wanted more color in the painting, I chose to add some yellow.  If you are interested in this painting, please email me.

No. 1 Coffee Cup

5"x7" Oil on Canvas Panel
Palette Knife Painting

Framing Example

I bought this coffee cup several years ago and love it because of it's size & shape.  It holds more than a regular size cup of coffee & is tall with a wide mouth making it perfect for a cup of cappuccino.  I've been intending to paint it ever since I bought it.  I guess it's been waiting all this time for the palette knife to do the job.
If you are interesting in this painting framed or unframed, please email me for details.

First Pear

5"x7" Oil on Canvas Panel
Palette Knife Painting
$99.00 plus Shipping

Framing example

Since it seems like every artist paints pears at one time or another, I decided to try it with the palette knife.  I love bright colors & this seemed to be a great subject to use them on.
If you are interested in this painting & would possibly like the framed version, please email me for details.

Arles Blue

7"x14" Oil on Wrapped Canvas
Palette Knife Painting

Arles, France is an ancient town established by the Greeks in 6th Century BC.  It's on the Rhone River which has made it an important port throughout it's history.  It was here where Vincent Van Gogh produced over 200 of his paintings during a 15 month period.  None of his paintings sold.  It was also in Arles where he lived in the famous yellow house (destroyed in World War II) and also where he cut off his ear.
This painting is from a photo I took on the streets of Arles.  Many spots where Vincent painted are marked throughout the city.  Arles has many other interesting attractions and is a great place to visit.

Showing Out

6"x8" Oil on Canvas Panel
Palette Knife Painting

These 3 pots of flowers are in full bloom & must be very proud to show off their colorful good looks.
It's too bad they won't last much longer since fall & cooler weather has already arrived here in central Arkansas.  I have already purchased some colorful mums and pansies for their replacement.
Thank you for taking a look at my palette knife paintings.
